This stabilized Leopardwood blank (Lacewood / Roupala montana) is intended for crafts, woodturning, and knife making.
It is a wood native to the northern Amazon region, easily recognizable by its leopard fur–like pattern, caused by oversized medullary rays.

Lacewood and Leopardwood are two different species that can sometimes be confused.

The wood is stabilized and infused with resin, which penetrates all the pores of the wood.
This process makes the blank water-resistantdimensionally stable, and crack-free.
It can be easily shaped and worked.

Dimensions of the Leopardwood blank: 31 × 43 × 124 mm

Appearance of the stabilized Leopardwood guard: medium to dark reddish-brown with light brown rays or flecks — highly decorative.

Density and workability of the Leopardwood blank: dense wood.

Weight of the stabilized Lacewood blank: approximately 180 g.

This blank is a natural product. The delivered piece may therefore differ from the illustration, particularly in its color variations.
