This kraft composting bag is used to collect and transport food waste to a composter. It's made from kraft paper, which is treated against moisture for added strength. It's a biodegradable, compostable material that will decompose naturally in the composter. So you can either recycle/reuse the bag if it's in good condition, or leave it to degrade with the organic matter.

How to use kraft compost bags to make compost in the garden?

The paper bag fits into an equivalent-sized compost garbage can or bio-bucket. Simply fold (and fill) the bag according to the dotted lines.
Place food waste in the kraft compost bag.
Once full, seal the kraft compost bag to prevent odours and pests.
Place the entire bag in your composter or in your local collection bin. You can also (and preferably) empty the bag and reclaim it for further use.
Moisten and mix the compost regularly to promote decomposition.
Vary your contributions for a rich, effective compost: vegetable and fruit peelings, food waste, paper towels and tissues, paper filters, wilted flowers, pet hair, etc.
Compost is ready to use when it's dark brown, granular and smells like forest soil.

This kraft bag for food waste can be composted in the garden or in collection bins in accordance with standard NF T51-800. As of January 1, 2024, the AGEC law requires all private individuals to sort bio-waste at source.
