The aim of the game is to form mills, i.e. to align 3 pawns of the same color. If a player forms a mill, he can capture one of his opponent's pieces. The winner is the player who has captured all but 2 of his opponent's pawns, or who has blocked his opponent so that he cannot move any more pawns.
The small size of the bamboo board and the lugs on the pawns mean you can play in any circumstance and take the Travelling Mill mini-game with you wherever you go.
