The process of making the pouf takes a long time, due to the large surface area and fineness of the material, but it's well worth it given the incredible result.
You can use the raffia pouf as decoration or as additional seating in your living room or bedroom. With its low height, this soft, comfortable pouffe is also well suited to children.

The pouf is a handcrafted piece of furniture. It may vary slightly in size, color and shape due to handcrafting and variations in materials.
Raffia (Corypha utan) occurs naturally in the steppe and forest areas of Southeast Asia. Every two years or so, the plant renews its leaves, shedding the old ones. They are then harvested by man, dried in the sun for a few days to a few weeks, and transformed into basketry. Raphia's scarcity and the work involved in refining it make it slightly more expensive than other plant fibers.
Relatively unknown in Europe, raffia has proved its worth with the local population in Southeast Asia. It is used to make all kinds of everyday objects, and is much appreciated for its pleasantly soft yet sturdy nature.
